The Lightning Bolt is a wizard's signature spell. At moderately high magery levels, one bolt will finish off a Forager Ant, and two will finish off a Harpie or Skeleton. At high magery levels, two bolts will send Sludge and similar beasts as well as elementals running, and three will kill them.

When combined with a Charm of Undead Cleansing, a strong wizard can often kill a Skeleton with one bolt.

Non-wizard players can cast this spell when equipped with a Ring of Lightning Bolt.
