The inn is not a shop in the strictest sense because it does not sell goods. In fact, it is not possible to buy anything from the inn. People sometimes use the inn for role-playing purposes.
Inns often have fireplaces, making them good places to use the Cooking skill. Many players cook on one of the fireplaces located within an inn.
